In co-operation with our Canadian partner, Lysander Shipping, UK and Italy recently undertook the safe discharge of 2 OTSG boilers from vessel to trailer and transport from Civitavecchia port to the site near Rome. Each piece weighing 112 tonnes with dimensions of LxWxH 12,736 x 3,924 x 4,229 m.
The pieces arrived Civitavecchia on 27 April and were delivered successfully early June after completion of route study, obtaining road permits and arranging escort. Due to the cargo height and bridge limitations a number of diversions had to be navigated. The pieces were only allowed to move between 10pm and 6am to minimise the disruption of the local traffic.
